Escape To Privacy on a secluded Beach Near Honolulu

When you crave an Oahu beach without the crowds, make your way to Yokohama Beach. Nestled in a remote western corner of the island, this expansive stretch of golden sand is untouched by development. Experience nature in its most pristine state as you stroll the beach, framed by turquoise seas and the Waianae Mountain Range. This idyllic spot is best for beach lounging and exploring, since there is a steep drop-off close to shore and the waves are usually big. This is a favorite destination for surfers, especially in the winter months.

FAQs

A : Visiting Yokohama Beach is the perfect way to get off the beaten path and experience authentic Oahu, on the island's rugged west coast. Free yourself from the tourist crowds and enjoy a secluded experience surrounded by pristine natural beauty on a golden sand beach surrounded by lush mountains and turquoise water. While it is a one and one-half hour drive to experience one of the most secluded areas of the island, the effort is worth it!
  • From Waikiki, take the H-1 highway and head north
  • Stay on H-1 until it turns into Highway 93 (Farrington Highway)
  • Follow this coastal road until it dead-ends at Keawa'ula Beach
A : Yokohama Beach's appeal is its pristine nature. You won't find tourist attractions, cafés or shops. Just miles of pure, golden sand beaches. So when you're planning your escape to experience natural Oahu, it's a good idea to plan ahead. You'll want to bring your own picnic lunch or snacks, along with plenty of water since there's no shade on this beach. The closest store is in Waianae where you can find provisions for your beach day. Or you can treat yourself to an authentic Hawaiian BBQ plate lunch at L&L Drive-Inn, located at 85-080 Waianae Valley Road.
